Midnight Sun

So I came across this site that had the first chapter of Midnight Sun.
For those of you who are Twilight fans you know what this is. But for those of you who don't, it is the same story as Twilight but in Edward's point of view, and let me tell you, it is WAY better than Twilight, and that says a lot.

Stephani Meyer wrote that she is going to publish this book, but after Breaking Dawn and all the jazz that comes with it settles down. It is a side project for her so she doesn't know when the release would be.

Here is the link to the first chapter. Watch out, you'll be hooked.

It does come up in Adobe reader so hopefully you all can read it.
HAVE FUN!!!

Fireworks anyone?

Every year, when mid-late June rolls around I look for the 1st fireworks stand and then I proceed to count everyone I see after that. The kids I watch like to participate in this ritual too. Well Yesterday, June 23 on Bullard and a little east of West was the first one. I was driving down the road and I saw it. I just had to make a u-turn and take a picture.

I just love this time of year. It just makes me happy and excited that it is July. Yea for Independence Day!

A cute baby blessing

Photobucket
Dakota Michael Schmidt
Terra and Josh (my step sister and husband) blessed their baby on Sunday. He is such a cute little boy. Unfortunately they don't live here so I don't get to see them that much but when they do visit it is fun. The blessing was good and this kid is destined for greatness. Congrats you guys. Your baby is beautiful.

Girlies Camp!!! :)

OH MY GOSH!
I don't think I have ever been so tired in my life. I guess it is practice for when I have a baby. The week was crazy but so worth it. Being in nature learning and teaching about Heavenly Fathers creations and being around all the wonderful girls was so amazing.
I had some great JC's on my side as well as a wonderful, talented, amazing co-counselor.

Jennie, Riley, Diana and Jessi
<span class= <span class= <span class=

Monique and I

They all did a great job. Whenever they needed to be spiritual the spirit was there or when the girls needed their love, they were there. They were all really on top of things.

I also had some great girls. Monique I was a counselor over one of the 1st year cabins. All of the girls were so cute and fun. I could tell they had a good time.

Photobucket
<span class= <span class=
<span class= <span class= <span class=
There were 17 girls, 4 JCs and Monique and I. It was a full cabin. Luckily we had one of the bigger cabins at the camp.

One of the activities of the week was repelling. I couldn't believe that.
I really thought that was so cool.
<span class= It was sort of a long walk to the place where they had the activity so Bro. Lewis would give the girls a ride. Moms don't look. :)

Some of the other activities were candle making, friendships bracelets, photography, home-made face scrubs and hand scrubs and lip gloss, and a zip line.

But most of the girls enjoyed the flour fight the most.
The game was capture the flag style and if you got hit with a flour bomb, you were out. The girls were to memorize a scripture each day. Each scripture would add a flour ball to your ammo collection and if you finished certifying you would qualify for a shield. But the thing was, the girls didn't know that that was the reason they were memorizing the scriptures. Well, being that all my girls were 1st years, they were so excited to be doing anything and everything so they had diligently memorized all of them. The rest of the years there weren't as excited so they didn't have as much ammo. so what do you think happend there?

WELL... We WON the fight.
My little 1st year were able to win over the 2nd, 3rd and 4th years. So cool right?
<span class= <span class= <span class=
<span class= <span class=
<span class=
They were so excited to win.
They were all rewarded with a crown and we got ballooned and candied later that night.
<span class=

Another thing that only the JC's and Monique and I were able to participate in was counselor night and JC night. Well the JC night was first and all the 1st year girls got to style their hair in crazy ways. So funny of course.

Photobucket Photobucket

and then the next night, we were done up by the JC while the girls were having a dance party with the seniors down by the camp fire. Monique and I were SOOO tired so we were rolling on the floor crying our eyes out laughing so hard.
and this is why...
Photobucket

We were definatly the best. hahaha

The girls were also able to hike to the beautiful waterfall.
Photobucket

The 4th years, since they had gone up to camp early, a day earlier, for their hike, good job ladies by the way,
Photobucket Photobucket
when every other year was doing their certification hike they were clearing this very long path to the waterfall. It looked so amazing. The camp owner said that is would probably take over 150 man hours to finish and they got it all done in less than a half a day. They said it was a lot of hard work, but it was so beautiful when it was done.

The girls from our ward had a great time up there too.
I am so glad that pretty much everyone was able to go.
Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket

and Angely you were an amazing leader.
Photobucket

The testimony meeting was fantastic and the spirit was definately there. Most of the Peachwood girls were able to bear their testimonies.
All in all, the week was so great!!!
Hopefully Ill be there next year (Anna, that was a wink wink to you)

Love you all

Monopoly and a little Twilight

So summer is finally here and that means that I have a really full time job, working form 7a - 7p. So this week is really the first week that the kids don't have very much activities so what have we been up to?
Playing Monopoly of course. :)

Photobucket

The kids swam one day and they did have a few activities, but for the most part it was a kick back week. Next week starts ballet summer intensive program (ballet boot camp). Lex will have ballet for 19 hours a week (for 6 weeks) so it makes for 4 long days for her, and then she has Friday's off so hopefully off to the Island we go. So if anyone in town wants to come, hit me up with a msg. and lets get it happenin. :)
Also I have been reading the Twilight series.

Photobucket

Oh my gosh are these the most fabulous books that I have EVER read. Its a love story and sci-fi all mixed into one. AMAZING. I had heard of Twilight before but I thought that a story about vampires would be lame so I skipped over it. But then my book club was reading it and so I decided to give it a try, and then I was hooked. I read the whole series in about 1 1/2 weeks. After the 3rd book I was having Edward and Bella (2 of the characters) withdrawals so I decided to start over and read Twilight again. It is still as good as the first. The 4Th book comes out in Aug and I already have one on hold from Amazon and then Twilight the movie comes out in December. 12/12/08 I am already to start looking for a babysitter. :)
Here is a little preview.

Amazing right?
Hopefully that worked.

Maycee (baby in tummy :) ) is excited for mommy to see it too.
She is kicking like crazy right now.

We took the dogs with us too. The kids really enjoyed them. Both dogs did such a good job in the car there and back. Thank goodness.

I was able to have a night out with the girls at the amazing restaurant Sakura Chaya. It was so good. They are the same owners if Japanese Kitchen. It was a tepinyaki style as well. Yummy food. BOB GIVENS' retirement party finally came around. He has been teaching for 39 years and by the time all of his vacation runs out (he has a year saved up) it will be like he taught for 40 years. That is a lot of years. This KID has been counting down the days till his retirement for 2 years. He cant believe that it is finally here. What is he going to do with all of his extra time? Family History of course. And he want to go see the Dodgers in action.

Photobucket
Another lady had her retirement party the same night.

The whole family was able to make it. Too bad we didn't get a family photo. Laura and Earl came from Sacramento and Robert and Maree came from San Diego, Matt and Amiee, Rob and I and Dustin and Heidi are all here in Fresno so that wasn't so hard.
I was glad to be able to see everyone.

And of course I have to show a picture of my ever growing belly. What a fun experience I have been having with pregnancy. Over all I have been in pretty good shape. I have stopped being sick, thank goodness, and I haven't been really tired. But as the time passes other things come. I have been having pretty bad back pains and I am unable to sleep in my bed anymore. I have to sleep on the couch. So me and 2 dogs sleep on a little couch. For once in my life I wish I had a HARD bed. haha.
