Dinkey Days

In July, a much anticipated trip finally arrived.

The Weiler family has been waiting for Dinkey to happen for I think 4 years now. It got cancelled due to a shortage of people wanting to attend.

Finally...

WE ARE BACK IN THE GAME!!

We got dirty... my kid ran independently.

We slept in bunk beds and no matter how hard I tried to organize everything, it got messy!!

We sat around gabbing with family and friends.

We had horseshoe, ping pong and frisbee golf tournaments.

We roasted marshmallows and tried a new treat... roasted Starbursts. mmm!

We ate popsicles, even if they had dropped in the dirt.

Lake Day was exciting. I think 5 pontoon boats were rented. We road wave runners, went tubing and even caught a lizard.

Of course everyone caught TOO many rays at the lake.

The traditional obstacle course was set up. Maycee was only up to running through the boxes at the end.

But mostly it was just plain ol' simple fun outside.

(Even if my kid was sick the whole week... we all had a BLAST!!)

May Days

May started off with the first swim of the year... brrr!!!

We baked some brownies... She is becoming quite the little baker.

She did all kinds of crafts with grandma... the Cricut being her favorite.

We went to Richard Boone's 8th Grade Graduation form St. Anthony's

And we went to the Fabulous Monteray Bay Beach.

MAY was filled with all kinds of fun!!!

Memorial Day in Monterey

Brittany Youngclaus had this FANTASTIC idea to head to the beach for Memorial Day. We were so in, and so were Brittany's parents. The car ride consisted of books and playing, with the occasional scream, but it went well.

And soon we were there. Maycee, of course, could not even wait one second to play in the sand. She insisted on wearing her swimsuit even though it was chilly enough to wear sweaters. If it wasn't for my BFF Brittany, I wouldn't have been where I have been. She is my adventurer. I love her to pieces.

Playing in the sand lasted for about... 30 min. HA It was cold. But Mayc had a blast.

She soon started tunring purple and I needed to put some clothes on her.... Just in time to play in the sand a bit more.

We then headed to the peer. The kids guided us into the candy store, of course, and then we headed to lunch for some good fish and chips.

We were told about this AWESOME park, Dennis the Menace Park, and knew we had to go there. Maycee was in heaven. At first I could keep track of her but after a bit, she was a runnin' everywhere.

The big train was cool, but super nerve wracking for me. She was on top of it and it just freaked me out.

We headed back to the car and decided to feed the ducks. They were eating right out of Derricks hand.

Soon it was time to head back home. The car ride home was full of singing Primary songs and playing Who Wants to Be a Millionaire on Britt's phone. Maycee fell asleep and soon we were home.

What an enjoyable day!

All the Christiansen side, plus some friends, gather at Grandpa and Grnadma Chris' house.

The Little Mermaid

My Mom scored some tickets to "The Little Mermaid" that was performed by

The Children's Musical Theater

The show was actually really good and Maycee enjoyed it as well.

She stayed in her seat, which was very surprising.

I wanted her to be able to meet all the characters so we waited in line. Ursula was first. Maycee was a bit nervous to stand by her at first but got over her fear quickly.

Areal and Prince Eric were next. They were her favorite. She didn't really want to take a picture with anyone else, but we were still far back in the line. Perfect way to get to the front... have an anxious 2 year old. She ran right up to the front.

Then were two of Arel's sisters. Maycee skipped right over King Triton. She would not go near him no matter how hard I tried to persuade her. When we got to the car she finally

said that she wanted to take a piture with him and that we should go back in.

We had a great time. Maycee is still talking about it today.

I can't believe how big she has gotten. Time has flown by.

I decided that since my apt. is a little on the small side that we would have 2 parties., 1 for friends, 1 for family. Both turned out great.

I wanna be Forest Gump

So I got to thinking one day that it would be cool to run a marathon in my life time. So I looked into a few races and sure enough the "Two City" race being held here in Fresno is benefiting the
Leukemia/ Lymphoma society.
Well I saw that and I said to myself that I have to do that race in memory of my cousin

So I have been running since July 29th and I couldn't feel any better.
It's amazing what running can do for you and your body. Not just physically but mentally as well.
So I got me a pair of new kicks and an iPod and off I went.

I also purchased a Nike + iPod
Its a sensor that goes in my shoe and a wireless adapter that plugs into my iPod Nano and they talk to each other. It tracks everything for me and then catalogs it online.
I LOVE IT!!

I have really learned a lot about myself and running in this last month.
1. I really like, I mean LOVE running
2. Once I get a really bad side ache, it doesn't go away
3. My right calf is stronger than my left because of driving
4. Running helps loose the lbs FAST
5. Music is the only thing that helps me last, or else I get a little board
6. I enjoy the feeling after I'm done with a good run
7. I have to stretch before I run

9 months Holy moly!!!

So my little baby Maycee is growing up fast.
Her 9 month appt. was 2 Mondays ago
I thought she was around 19-20lbs. I was wrong.
She's 15lbs 13oz - 5th percentile
Height- 27" - 25th percentile
She also got 2 more shots poor baby girl. But Doc says that everything is great. He says her heart healed together very nicely and she is in for a long life. :)

At 9 months she:
Says moma, but only when shes crying
says dada
She has 5 teeth, her 6th one is coming in
clicks her tongue all the time
will copy you when you clap your hands click your tongue or blow kisses
waves goodbye
blows kisses, but she looks and sounds like an Indian
She is almost walking, she stood up by her self 3 times
she crawls so fast
Has temper tantrums when she doesn't want to take a nap
hates baby food
Loves to eat, chex, cheerios, gold fish, anything sweet, peas, green beans, pasta

She gets into a lot of trouble these days. She is so adventurous.

The Cruise

The long awaited cruise finally came and went and it was so worth the wait.

Because of the swine flu we weren't able to go to Mexico like we planned
but we were able to go to...

San Fransisco

Victoria, British Colombia

and Seattle, Washington

We drove down to LA to catch the boat and we were amazed at how big the boat was. If you tipped the Eiffel tower on its side it would fit inside the boat with some extra room left over.

There were 2 different swimming pool decks, 4 spas, a salon spa, ice skating rink, movie theater, miniature golf, gym, casino, many cafes and bars, a dance club, a library, rock climbing wall, arcade, and much more

The Shows in the evenings were amazing as well. We saw dancers, comedians, ice skaters, parades, singers, etc.

The food on the boat was also so good. Not only did we have breakfast lunch and dinner (all 3 course meals) there was a cafe that had free food all the time and also there was a Johnny Rockets that we could have all we can eat for $5.

My 24th birthday was the last evening we were on the boat too. It was fun being sung to and receiving presents. What a good evening.

We all had an amazing time on our cruise and I owe it all to my MOM!!!

Back from the DEAD!!!

Maycee is growing up so incredilbly fast I just can't believe it.
A quick recap of the past month or so

Maycee's 6 month check up went pretty well.
Height - 25" (25th)
weight - 13.9 lbs (20th)
Head - 42 1/2 cm

She is now eating mostly solids, at least we try to have it that way. She has about 3 bottles a day or less.

The doctor did find a little heart murmur and so he ordered an EKG. For some reason I was not worried at all. I had no problems with it. So we headed over to Valley Childrens. And you know, I felt as if nothing was wrong and I was right. The doctor told us her reselts right there and everything was fine. She still has a murmur but it is the result of her heart still fusing together from birth. Everything is great.

She now has a little tooth

She chews on everything.
She is also crawling everywhere and even pulling herself up on objects. I wont be supprised if she starts walking pretty soon.

She is also quite the little jumper. She gets so excited.

She also:
1. Waves hello or good-bye. Shes not super good at it but she does it.
2. Can hold her own bottle
3. Still fits into 0-3 month clothes. Shes a cute little shrimp
4. Loves to go swimming
5. Still in size 1 pampers
6. Sits in her high chair and eats all by herself
7. sits up with out help
8. Loves our doggies
9. has a favorite cartoon... Sponge Bob (haha)
10. Smiles all the time

While we were on our cruise (next post) she stayed with my aunt marmar and a lot of others too. thank you to all by the way, but I hear she did pretty well. 7 days with out her mom. I am paying for it now. She wants me to hold her all the time.

My mom LOVES her g-baby and is always buying her toys. Well this time she came home with this one night. Maycee LOVES it. She goes crazy and is entertained for hours.
Baby Einstein is a genius.

4 MONTHS old that's what!

My how time flies.

Maycee had her 4 month check-up and the results were a little under the mark.

She weighed in at a whopping

11.4 lbs (5th percentile)

23 1/2 in. long (20th)

and a 40cm head

Doc says that she is under weight so lucky me...

(no sarcasm, really)
I get to move up in the food scale

SOLIDS

(solids are way cheaper than Nutramigen)

She has really leared a lot of new tricks too.

*She has officially rolled over BUT the catch,

she can't remember how to do it again.

*She definatly knows who her mom is and chooses to spend time with her (all the time) Good or Bad? The times depend

*She giggles and laughs

*Talks and coos (She did say "mama" and Grandma Cyndi can vouch for me, of course she didn't know she said it)

*She loves singing time, tummy time and learning sign language. She watches me very intently

V-day night we were invited to a How to Host a Murder party by Ashley and Mike Burton. This was so much fun. I recommend it to everyone. Ashley had found this game in her parents garage and it's been there for about 20 years so this game took place in the 80's.
Now Anything 80's... I'M IN!
Ashley Christiansen and I spent part of the day looking for sequence dresses. I already had mine (compliments of the lady I work for, Vassis mother) But she found her perfect dress. We each had our own characters to play.
The table was decorated nicely and we had a wonderful chef (Ashley B's cousin) make us a great dinner.

Earlier in the week I decided that baby Skyler had to be Maycee's Valentine so I made them matching shirts with "M and S" on them. I wanted to get pics of them together so look for them later.

We invited his family and a few of mine and we had one heck of a night.

We had ordered some Hungry Howie's pizza but hmmm... we weren't allowed to bring them in. But the manager was a NICE guy and so he gave us one of his rooms and we were able to eat before we bowled. What a great guy.

We celebrated by going to Robs bowling league. He bowled 2 turkies and one of those turkies turned into whatever 4 strikes in a row are called. :)

Blessing a beautiful baby girl was the thing that made Sunday Dec. 28th 2008 perfect. All of our family and friends were able to be there. Thanks to everone that was able to be there from out of town. Unfortatly I wasnt able to get everyone in the pic that was there but you know who you are.

Maycee was dressed in a wonderful dress that my mom

was able to make, and I made the bow to match.

In the circle, Maycee was surrounded by people that loves her so very much. Bishop Reynders said it was a record of how many people were in the circle.

The final count was 20, uncles, great uncles, grandpas, great grandpas, close friends, and dad.

It couldn't have been any more special. Rob gave a wonderful blessing. He truly felt the spirit.

3 to the hizzle months

Maycee, baby girl, princess buttercup, silly monkey... stop growing up so fast.

SHE...

- Loves to suck on her hands, not thumb, but hands
- Loves to watch cartoons (mostly baby Einstein)
- Laughs if you hiss in her ear, poke her cheeks, or blow in her armpit
- Has the most beautiful eyelashes EVER!
- Has a CRAZY bald spot that goes all the way around her head.
- Spys me from all the way across the room
- Sleeps the WHOLE night in her crib (in bed at 10p, wakes up at 6:30a when I got to work)
- Fits into 0-3 month clothes, but still newborn pants
- Can entertain me for hours
- HATES the bath at first, then one minute later, LOVES it.
- Is so sensitive. (pricey diapers and formula for her)
- Sometimes needs "alone time", nobody can hold her.
- Is starting to bat her toys
- Laughs so hard when you change her clothes

New years was Great. spending an "extreme" night at Sig Flags with Janice and Jeremy turned out perfect. Rob had a free ticket, therefore making me buy a full ticket.

Full ticket = season pass ya baby!!

so I now can go whenever I want :) Anyone want to babysit Maycee?
(Thanks aunt Mar mar and mom for taking her that night and the next day)

My little nephew Topher, and my niece Sarah got baptised. I am so proud of them. Maycee had a major poop during Sarah's baptism so I missed her slide show of pictures I was sad, but Congrats to you both. Heavenly Father loves you both and he is so proud of you too.

My mom had her major back surgery and she is doing great. Sorry that I didn't keep you all updated. These are my moms words, "They drilled a piece of my L4 and L5 disc and replaced it with a bone graft. This is where the disc was pinching the nerve that leads down through your hip and down your leg, It was nothing that happened in the past just luck said Dr Aryian. He put in two screws and a thin plate to help support it. It's really cool to see on xray. As far as surgery went I was a text book case."
She is doing really well, walking around and everything. I'm glad that she had this surgery so now she will be able to one day walk around Disneyland with her granddaughter. Love you mom

My step dad Donny had a Birthday Jan 6th. He doesn't really like cake and my mom wasn't really up to celebrating because she had her surgery that week so this was my gift to him. :) MEAT!!!

AND, my baby girl is growing up too fast.

We had her blessing on Dec 28th (Janice and Jeremy's 1 yr anniversary congrats guys for making it through) but I will post pics and story later. GREAT DAY!

This was the BEST christmas ever. No tears on Christmas day, a wonderful loving family, a new baby. Could it get any better? Oh yes it can. :)

Rob, Maycee and I spent the night at my mom's and woke up to a couch full of stockings.
***{From my mom: Rob, me, my brother Wyatt, sis in law Ashley, and my step dad Donny all received a CRUISE to MEXICO} YEA next May you'll hear all about it. :)

-Rob and I thought that since our gift's dont always work out the best, we thought that we would only do stocking stuffers this year and then go REAL shopping after Christmas.

The day ended well, Maycee had no idea what was going on but NEXT year... awesome. :)
She was so tired. Christmas wore her out. We went home last night and she slept for 8 hrs. I had to wake her up at 7a to feed her and then she went right back to sleep. Crazy. I LOVE IT!

EXPLANATION: Sounds like no big deal RIGHT? Graduating from school? WELL really...

ROB'S parents DID NOT, I repeat, DID NOT know that he has been going to school for the past year or so. Evertime he sees them, they procede to tell him that he NEEDS to go back to school. It was a BIG secret and it was hard to keep. Laura (Robs sister) was the other one that didnt' know either.

OH her reaction was AWESOME. exactly what he was looking for. AND the LAME part, we DIDNT get it on video. This was a "Funniest Home Video" worthy moment. It was the BEST!!! NO ONE ELSE knew either besides 3 sisters.

This past Saturday Rob, Maycee and I went to our wards Christmas party. It was so fun. Every year is a different theme. This year it was Italy. Yummy.

Of course Maycee had to sit on Santa's lap.

Church today was also fun. She got to wear a super cute new outfit.

She got 2 shots. I forgot the baby tylenol poor girl but she did great. She cried for about 30 sec and then she was fine. But she was a little cranky all day. Not too bad though. Everything is norm for my perfect baby girl. Gotta love her.

She is losing all of her hair in the front and now she has a big bald spot in the back. My mom says that I had the exact same hair when I was born and then later all of my hair fell out and it all came back in curly. I'm sure that is what will happen with Maycee. But for now she is "business in the front and PARTY in the back" with a little bald spot.

So yesterday I put Maycee on a blanket on the floor and went out of the room for like 5 min. and when I came back in the room she was off the blanket and on her stomach. This last weekend was a blast. Grandpa and Grandma Chis rented a house on the beach. There were 25 people in the house. it had 4 bathrooms and 2 kitchens. Beautiful house.

Hurst castle was our Saturday activity. Started the day off with my fam and wyatt and Ashley making breakfast. Hurst castle was beautiful. I want to go back and tour the other 4 tours. Love it. Maycee was really good. I wasn't allowed to take a stroller so she had her first outing in the front backpack thing. Wish I got a pic but oh well. She slept the whole time. Only thing was she pooped during the movie thing in the beg. So I changed her on my lap and her sock accidently got in her little mess so the rest of the tour she had no socks. poor girl

We stoped off at the elephant seals on the way home. So cold there.

The day was filled with family and fun. Maycee didn't sleep that well the night before so we didn't get up till around 11 and then we needed to get ready to go so we weren't out of the house till around 12ish. We stopped by Rob's parents house to visit for a little while and then we were off to my moms house. We usually have dinner at my grandpa Karl's house but this year my mom stepped up. All my family was there. We had a great dinner that was cooked by my mom and grandpa that was followed by some guitar hero. My step dad, Donny came home with Guitar Hero World Tour (the new set) the night before so we could all enjoy it. It is so AWESOME. The drums are great. Later that evening we all went to the movies to go see "Quantum of Solace". Great movie. Maycee did alright. She did wake up for about a second so I had to take her out for a bit but other than those 5 min she was out. She loves to go to movies. :)
the traditions were kept alive this year as well.
We had our annual family photo taken. My grandpa gets his tripod out and hits the timer button and tries to run into the photo. Hilarious every time.

We also had a table runner that my Aunt Leanna made lining the table. She brought this tradition to our family in 1999 and every year she has brought it. The tradition of it is that every year you write what you are thankful for on it. It is so cool to read what everyone has written over the years. There are some cherished memories that come from that table runner.

I just love traditions.

Twilight

I was waiting on a picture before I posted this but oh well. The pic I took was on my phone that I lost.

Brittany, her mom Dawn, me, Sarah C, Michelle C, Aunt Jeaneen, and a few of Michelles friends went to the 12:01a showing of Twilight. We went to Manchester Theater thinking Edwards was going to be all sold out, which it wasn't. We were all wishing that we were there. Haha I showed up to wait in line at 4:45p. A few of our group showed up to wait with me because I had to leave to chaperone a musical practice for a few hours but after I headed back over. There were a group of about 10 people in line head of us and Dawn got to talking to them and come to find out they had camped out on the red carpet of a screening for 2 days to meet the real people. They had pictures and everything. So cool

We were all so excited for the movie. When we were all seated and the movie finally started everyone was clapping and whistling. It got quiet, and then when the Cullens walked in everyone started screaming again. It was great.

Movie Review

It was pretty close to the book which was great. They left a bunch of stuff out which wasn't bad for me since I read the book. I think that if I hadn't read it, I would have been clueless on a few things.

I went into the showing thinking that Edward was a horibble pick and Bella was great but it was the complete opposit for me. Edward was very good, and Bella, I felt that she needed a few acting lessons (ok maybe a lot) It was enjoyable until Bella talked. I just cringed at some of her acting skills. Also she had the same facial expression for everything (happy, in love, in pain, shock etc) same face.

All the other characters I felt or casted great. I had no problems with anyone else.

Also I felt as if they could have done a better job of making them look like they were running fast, and jumping far.

Looking back, to me, the movie was too amature, and it felt like it was a college film project for a student. I just look at Harry Potter and how well their movies are made and wish that Twilight was on the same level of greatness.

Over all I did enjoy the movie. It was good enough to forgive all the bad things.

I even saw it a second time Friday at 4:00p with Brittany and Alexis.

I would recommend this movie to others. :) Good clean fun.

It was all fun and games until I accidently left my phone there. I went to ask if they had it but they said that nothing showed up. Bye Bye to my fave phone the Palm Centro. LAME!!

I can't believe that she is a month old already. She is growing up too fast. :)

We had her one month check up today with Dr. Thompson.

She got her 2nd Hep B shot and she really didnt like it at first but she was a trooper. I didnt cry which made it better.

I think that she really smiled for the first time today. Either is was real or a really cool coincidence. She has been doing this fake smile stuff at random but these smiles were right on key when someone would talk or play with her. I am so excited.

We also took her to our ward for the first time yesterday. I didn't take a picture of her in her cute dress though. Next time. She did great,all through out church she just slept.

Also some other excited news, she is staying up longer. She was awake for 6 hrs last night. She ended up going to bed at about 12:30p BUT... the cool thing is she slept for 7 hrs. She didn't wake up till 7:30. Is that CRAZY or what. I was so thankful. The night before was a horrible night and I was exhausted. Heavenly Father knew that I needed some sleep. :)

Today we went shopping. The top picture isn't from the shopping day but it was of all of us together. We have been friends forever. Me Natalie Brittany and April were 4 of a kind back in the day. These days the three of us always get together whenever Natalie is in town. Natalie is my cousin and Brittany we have always called family.

It was so fun to get together. We went to Japanese Kitchen for lunch and then we went to Fashion Fair mall for a little shopping. Natalie decided that she needed to buy little Maycee a new outfit. Well while we were picking some stuff out Maycee went to the bathroom so off to change her I went. Well, while I had her diaper off and putting the new diaper on in that 2 seconds she peed all over her little outfit. Good thing I had a little onsie in my bag, and good thing Natalie was buying her a new outfit, and thank goodness it fit her. She looked so cute in her new outfit. Thanks Natalie.

Brit and I also got "Team Edward" pins. Only 10 more days. :)

Brets Farewell

My 3rd cousin Bret Pryzbyla's farewell sacrament mtg. was on Sunday. He is going to be going to Denver CO. We are all so proud of him. He is going to be a great missionary.

This is Bret's mom, Bev. Maycee LOVES her. All through my pregnancy a lot of people would touch my belly but Maycee would not move. Well EVERY time that Bev touched my belly Maycee would move. It was so cool. She just loved her touch.

Maycee and Greyson (Maycee's cousin) fell asleep on the floor. They are three months apart. They are going to have so much fun when they grow up.

We went to the polls as a family, it was quick and easy. We even saw Holly George there. With me posting this at 10:30p I now know that Obama won (bummer) but that's ok. I did vote for McCain, but I know that Heavenly Father allowed Obama to win for a reason. What the reason is I have NO IDEA, but we'll see if he succeeds. Hopefully Obama doesn't get shot. Those KKK guys are crazy.

Rob decided to take us out to eat on Maycee's 2 weeks. He was such a proud daddy carrying her into Applebees. He is a great dad. She slept the whole time and wasn't a problem at all. Earlier that day we visited Grandpa Birdie and Auntie Bon Bon was there too.

There are a few things that I have noticed about Maycee.

1. She sleeps so much. She sleeps about 20 hours or more a day. (no joke)

2. She is a 2 sneezer girlie. Always 2 sneezes.

3. She is a HOT baby.

4. She hates to have her hands/arms bundles up.

5. She doesn't wake up to loud noises (dogs barking, printers, etc)

6. She hates to be breastfed. (I think she claustrophobic or something)

7. She doesn't mind cold bottles

8. When she sleeps she opens her eyes and makes weird faces.

9. She is not a cryer thanks goodness.

10. She smiles already(my mom says its just gas but I say she smiles)

And... her belly button fell off today!!! :) YEA
